Why we built UdyogFlow — and why your factory's WhatsApp group is holding you back.

Six WhatsApp groups, three Excels and a diary. That was production tracking in the factory we sat in for two years. Here's why we replaced it.

On a Tuesday morning in February 2024 we sat in the merchandiser's cabin of a small knit garment factory outside Tirupur. By 9:15 AM she had already opened six WhatsApp groups, scrolled past 200 messages, and copied numbers into a yellow notebook.

She wasn't behind. She was a great merchandiser. The system around her was the problem.

WhatsApp groups are great for casual chatter and terrible for production data. Numbers get lost. Photos pile up. The same shirt count is sent three times by three supervisors. And by the time the owner sees a delay, it's already a delay.

We thought there must be ten ERP products solving this in India. There aren't. Tally is an accounting tool. SAP is a six-figure project. Most "garment ERPs" we tried were Excel with a fresh coat of paint and zero awareness of the floor.

So we built UdyogFlow. The bet is simple: meet supervisors where they already work (WhatsApp), give merchandisers and owners one screen instead of six, and treat email as a first-class channel for vendors and buyers who don't live on WhatsApp.

If your factory's production data lives in WhatsApp groups today, we'd love to talk.
