UdyogFlow for metalwork

For metal fabrication, sheet metal and machined-part factories — job cards, sub-contractor flow, scrap, rework.

Common workflows

What we handle out of the box.

  • Customer enquiry → drawing review → quote → PO
  • Job card per part with operations and routing
  • Sub-contractor send (heat treatment, plating, anodising)
  • Inspection, rework, packing
  • Dispatch + customer payment

Metalwork-specific bits

What makes this industry different.

Job card with routing

Each part has a routing of operations (cut, bend, weld, drill, plate). Track time and quantity per operation.

Sub-contractor lifecycle

Send out → receive back → reconcile against material issued. Scrap and short-shipments accounted for.

Drawings + revisions

Latest drawing version attached to job card. Out-of-rev parts blocked from production.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does UdyogFlow generate job cards with multi-step routing for each part?

Yes. Each part has a routing of operations (e.g. cut → bend → weld → drill → plate → inspect → pack). Job cards print with the part drawing, the operations list, and a QR code for floor tracking. Operations record time, quantity and operator per stage. You see live progress per part, per order.

How do you handle sub-contractor work for plating, heat treatment, anodising?

Sub-contractor send-out generates a material issue voucher tied to the part and quantity. On receipt, GRN reconciles against the issue — short-shipments, scrap, rework all captured. You can set per-vendor lead times so deadline alerts fire if a sub-contractor is sitting on parts beyond their promise.

Will scrap and rework be reconciled against material issued?

Yes. Every material issue (raw material to cutting, parts to sub-contractor, etc.) is tracked with a return / scrap / rework reconciliation on completion. Wastage % is rolled up per part, per operation, per operator. Excess scrap triggers a flag for owner review. Audit trail keeps the source documents.

Does the system block production on parts where the drawing is out of revision?

Yes. Drawing revisions are tied to parts. When a new revision is uploaded, the previous revision is marked obsolete. Production for any open job card using an obsolete revision gets blocked until the merchandiser confirms whether to continue on old rev or switch. No more 'oops we shipped the wrong rev.'

Can my supervisors update operation completion over WhatsApp?

Yes. Supervisor sends "JOB-2026-014 OP3 100" — order, operation, quantity — to the factory's WhatsApp number and it lands on the job card live. Hindi, Hinglish, Tamil and Punjabi parsing works for the common operation names. No new app to learn, no separate login.

Is the per-order P&L accurate for metalwork with sub-contracted operations?

Yes. Per-order P&L includes raw material cost, in-house labour / overhead, sub-contractor charges, freight, and margin. Sub-contractor costs are pulled from POs in real time, not estimated. The P&L is live from invoice raise — you don't wait till month-end to know if a tooling job lost money.

Does UdyogFlow handle GST e-invoicing for B2B industrial customers?

Yes. GST tax invoices with HSN, IRP-portal-ready e-invoice JSON, multi-currency for export, and TCS / RCM handling where applicable. Your CA pulls clean entries into Tally for GST returns. ICEGATE-format shipping bill data exportable. We update with GST rule changes as they roll out.

How long does implementation take for an 80-person metal fabrication factory?

An 80-person metal fab factory is typically live in 2 weeks on Growth. Week one: part master, BOM, routing templates, vendor / sub-contractor master, drawing upload. Week two: WhatsApp + floor training, parallel run. Founder-led implementation, no third-party SI charges, no waterfall handoff.
